Mike’s Tree Company has been providing professional tree service in Brainerd, Minnesota and the surrounding Brainerd Lakes Area since 1995. We offer tree removal, tree trimming, tree pruning, stump removal, insect and disease control, tree protection plans, soil care, and consulting services.

Crew was here on time and professional. Very efficient crew. Removed two large oak trees without damaging any surrounding trees or grounds. Efficient cleanup of all branches and debris. Would recommend to my neighbor and friends. They will be coming back this winter for a tricky lakeside tree on a hill.

Mikes Tree Service has done miscellaneous tree removal projects at my property over the years and always does a great job. They recently removed a large tree and I was thrilled at the minimal impact it had on my yard.

We hired Mike's back in May to take down a few trees and grind old and the new stumps. We were told it would be 2-3 weeks. Memorial Day one of the trees we wanted to take down fell down from the storms. We called and Mike's didn't come out, so after a week we took care of it ourselves. We kept calling and was told they were only doing emergency service and would do our project later. We told them we needed them to come before July 18 as we were having a new driveway put in. Mike's called on July 15th and said they would be there on the 18th.
They did come out and cut down all the trees between us and our neighbors who also hired them. They piled all the trees up on another neighbors yard (didn't ask permission) and it took three weeks (with us calling everyday) for them to come and pick them up. This damaged our neighbors yard and killed grass.
We were told stump grinding would follow right after the trees came down. I called and they first told me it was 1-3 weeks, when I said it's been over three weeks then it went to 4-6 weeks?!?! It's now been four weeks, Mike's called us yesterday and the guys showed up this morning at 7:50am, walked around the house and left never to return. I called a few times today trying to figure out what happened and was told someone would call me back, but no one has.
I would not recommend hiring this company. They can't commit to any schedules, constantly give misleading information and never respond. I'm just happy we haven't paid anything yet.

We had a 28" caliper, 90' tall white pine that was rotting and had to come down. Located about 15 feet from our house and one foot from propane tank. I was also concerned about getting a lot of yard damage from the removal operation.
Mike's gave me a quote that I felt was very competitive but also backed by their experience.
Mike's crew reviewed their plan of attack with me and addressed my concerns about yard damage before they set up. Very efficient crew and got the tree down and hauled away in a few hours. These guys were clearly experienced and did all the work without any damage to my house, propane tank, or yard. They were very thorough cleaning up every last bit of tree branches, needles, etc.
I would not hesitate to use them again.

Mike’s Tree service has done excellent work for us. They are great with communicating when they will be on the property and what will be done. Quotes for work are always done within a few days of request. Only tree service I’ll use in the area.

We were concerned about our numerous basswood trees after one broke off about 15 feet up. Thirty feet of tree fell between two cabins, causing no damage, thank goodness!
Chris Larson came out and had a look at the others. He gave us some information about what to watch for. We could easily see why the one that broke off did so. It had dead branches and drilled holes at that 15 foot mark, even though the top looked healthy. Now we will keep watch on the others.

Very professional. Would highly recommend.
They carefully brought down a tree that was hung up in other trees over my shed. No damage to my shed. They drove their equipment on mats so no damage to my yard.

The crew of four did a wonderful and very professional job of removing 3 trees from difficult locations. Two were overhanging garages and one was overtopping the electric meter. The first few hours were difficult for the operator in the bucket truck who was taking high limbs from a tall poplar. The wind was gusting to nearly 25 mph, but he maneuvered skillfully and dropped everything without problem. Everything was removed with very little evidence that any equipment had been been on the ground. The only thing left when completed was a very small amount of sawdust. We were completely satisfied with the project.

They provided me with a reasonable estimate to remove a dead tree that was leaning toward our driveway, and the team was out the next day after I accepted the proposed bid. I will definitely use them again!

Ordered dark brown mulch, first two yards then eight additional yards to refresh the landscape. Also had Mike's Tree Company take down two oak trees that were threatening the neighbors house, one was rotten all the way down into the root structure. Mike's took out both trees and ground the stumps into nothingness!

We have diseased trees. There professional arborist came, diagnosed them and and provided a treatment plan for free. They'll come this coming spring.

We have used Mike's Tree Service for several years and just had them remove some trees for us. They quote you a fair price and then complete the work for the amount they quoted. No surprises. They show up when they say they are going to and do a great job. We will definitely continue to use them in the future.

This is the third time that I have used Mike's Tree Company to remove a tricky tree from my property. Their level of professionalism is second none. They had to climb the tree and top it and then work their way down. It was tight quarters and nothing was damaged in the entire process. The clean up job was just as good as the tree removal.
You can count in Mike's to get the job done and done right. The crew was friendly and made the whole experience positive. I will use them again.
